BSI releases guidance on cybersecurity in the automotive sector 2021/22

On 19 September 2022, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) issued the second version of its guidance on cybersecurity in the automotive sector. The guidance addresses cyber security issues of the IT systems involved in the production and the vehicles themselves. The Guidance focuses on cyber risks and threats related to automation and the use of artificial intelligence. According to the guidance, manufacturers need to demonstrate at an early stage of development that they have addressed the cyber security risks and implemented security measures in accordance with European Union directives (UNECE regulation UN R155 (15) and Regulation (EU) 2018/858).
