Germany: Released guidance on cybersecurity in the automotive sector

On 7 September 2021, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) published its guidance on cybersecurity in the automotive sector. The guidance outlines the cyber security issues identified by the BSI and notes that manufacturers should take into consideration the cyber vulnerabilities in every stage of vehicle development. Furthermore, the BSI noted that ransomware attacks pose a high risk not only to the vehicle's systems but to the entire supply chain in the manufacturing process and advocated for cyber security tests for their identification.
