Ruling issued in RT France's legal challenge against blocking of Russia Today in EU

On 27 July 2022, the General Court of the European Union (EU) issued its judgment in Case T-125/22, dismissing RT France's application to annul the Council of EU Decision (CFSP) 2022/351 and Regulation (EU) 2022/350. The Council’s decisions issued on 1 March 2022, enacted restrictive measures against Russia Today's ability to operate within the EU. In its complaint, RT France argued that the adopted measures infringe its freedom of expression and information, its freedom to conduct business, and the principle of non-discrimination granted in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.
