G7 Digital ministers release joint declaration on cyber security and resilience of critical infrastructure

On 11 May 2022, the German government published a joint declaration of the G7 digital ministers on cyber security and resilience of critical infrastructure, following a meeting of the G7 digital ministers. The meeting focused on cybersecurity and the resilience of digital infrastructures in the context of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. In the declaration, the countries stressed the significance of sustainability in digitisation, the digitisation of commercial documents and safe cross-border data flows. Furthermore, the joint declaration emphasises that enhanced attention is required in light of the threats presented by cyberattacks, by committing to strengthening digital infrastructure, interacting with organisations and businesses within the economy, sharing cyber threat information and coordinating responses.
