Roskomnadzor announces intention of administrative protocols against Google over its alleged refusal to delete “false information” from YouTube

On 29 March 2022, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media of Russia, Roskomnadzor, announced that it is drafting two administrative protocols against Google LLC. The agency noted that Google failed to delete the content flagged by Russian authorities as illegal from its platform YouTube. Roskomnadzor noted that for the alleged violations, Google risks a fine of up to RUB 8 million and in the case of repeated violations a fine of up to 20% of the company's global revenue, based on Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
