Pakistan: Adopted Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight and Safeguards) Rules 2021 including registration requirement

On 13 October 2021, the "Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight and Safeguards) Rules 2021", prescribed by the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, were published in the official gazette of Pakistan, updating the 2021 version of the Rules. The rules contain a requirement for social media companies to register with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority within three months of the law entering into force.
