European Union Agency for cybersecurity issues report on securing machine learning algorithms

On 14 December 2021, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (EUAC) published the Securing Machine Learning Algorithms report. In the report, the EU provides a taxonomy of machine learning (ML) techniques, presents the core functionalities and specifies the cyber security threats that ML techniques are vulnerable to. Furthermore, the EUAC outlines a list of relevant security controls that it recommends implementing to protect from cyberattacks the systems based on ML techniques. The EUAC also specifies that in order to address the risks outlined in the report, the mitigation controls should be implemented during the entire lifecycle of a system based on ML.
