Japan: Opened consultation on Governance Guidelines for the Practice of AI Principles (Version 1.0)

The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry opened a consultation on the "Guidelines for the Practice of Artificial Intelligence Principles" (Version 1.0). The guidelines contain Artificial Intelligence governance rules to plan risk analysis, select appropriate goals, and pursue ex-post evaluations. Particularly, the document analyses risks and opportunities of AI, social acceptance of AI systems, and suggests measures to limit the impact of incidents on users by adopting prevention solutions and early response strategies. The consultation will remain open to public comment until 15 September 2021.
