On 7 January 2021, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of the United Kingdom closed its consultation to receive inputs on the topic of wholesale data markets. The consultation had been opened on 9 March 2020. In particular, the FCA aims to identify challenges and opportunities arising from the changing use and value of data as well as the use of advanced analytics. The main investigated topics are the access and use of data, the value of this data for market participants and whether data are being sold and priced in a competitive environment.
