Announced Competition investigation on Apple new privacy policy rules

The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) announced an investigation into the Privacy Policy introduced by Apple, which increases the requirements that the apps on iOS devices need to fulfil to track user activity. In particular, the Authority investigates whether the new rules are designed to promote and self-preference Apple's personalised advertising service (Apple Search Ads), determining a case of exclusionary abuse of market power. Apple also reduced the amount of dataflow to third-party apps, making it harder for them to create personalised ads.
