Introduced House Bill 591 enabling anti-censorship measures

House Bill 591 is introduced to the Wisconsin General Assembly. The bill would create a civil cause of action against a social media site that has more than 150 million users and restricts religious or political speech through deletion, censorship or disfavourment, also through automated algorithms. The bill also permits the action against sites that fail to notify users that their content has been deleted or disfavored, or that they have been "deplatformed". The bill defines “deplatforming” as deleting or banning a user from a social media site for more than 60 days.
